We offer a variety of manufacturing techniques and lapel pin backing options.

Die Struck Soft Enamel (Colored) Pins

The design is struck into a soft piece of steel that is then hardened. The “die” is then used to strike the softer metal to transfer the design to the pin material. The soft enamel color is applied by hand and sits lower than the raised metal lines giving the pin a textured look and feel. Soft enamel pins are the most popular type of custom made lapel pin.

Die Struck Pins (Metal Only) Pins

Die struck metal pins can be made without any color applied. The pin has a metallic finish and appearance. Die struck metal pins can be sand blasted, polished or even antiqued for additional effect.

Photo Etched or Offset Print Pins

The design is created by using a photo etched plate or by printing directly onto the base metal using an offset print process, depending upon the design requirements. Photo-etched pins allow a logo or design to be recreated, down to the smallest detail, without the need for fine gold or silver metal separating lines around each color.

Cloissone Pins

Also known as “hard enamel”, the pins are created using a die-struck process with the use of special colors containing a glass-like mixture. Colors are fired one at a time at 1700 degrees which melts the glass-like powder into hard solid color cells.
